A personal reflection on our mission, values, and commitment to
serving Bangladesh’s most vulnerable communities.
Chairman & Founder
United Welfare Society
Assalamu Alaikum and warm greetings,
When we established United Welfare Society in 2021, we were driven by a simple yet profound conviction: that every human being, regardless of their circumstances, deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope. Today, as I reflect on our journey, I am humbled by the trust placed in us and the transformation we have witnessed together.
Our work in Bangladesh, from the bustling urban slums to the remote rural villages, and particularly with our Rohingya brothers and sisters in Cox’s Bazar, has taught us that true development comes not just from providing immediate relief, but from empowering communities to build their own sustainable futures.
The phrase that guides our work – “Charity is Investment, helps you to earn Smiles” – reflects our belief that every act of giving creates ripples of positive change that extend far beyond the initial gesture. When we invest in a child’s education, we invest in their family’s future. When we provide clean water to a village, we invest in the health and productivity of an entire community.
Over the past three years, we have had the privilege of directly impacting over 500,000 lives through our comprehensive programs. Each number represents a family that now has access to clean water, a child who can attend school, a patient who received life-saving medical care, or a refugee family that found hope in their darkest hour.
Our work spans six major areas – Education, Food Security, Water & Sanitation, Healthcare, Emergency Response, and our specialized Rohingya Response programs. Each initiative is carefully designed not just to address immediate needs, but to build long-term resilience and self-sufficiency within communities.
We are deeply grateful to our partners – from international organizations like the UAE Embassy and UAE Red Crescent to local community leaders who guide our work. These partnerships have enabled us to amplify our impact and ensure that our programs are culturally sensitive and locally relevant.
Our construction projects – building mosques, schools, and homes – represent more than just physical structures. They are symbols of hope, centers of community life, and foundations for future generations to build upon.
As we look to the future, we are committed to expanding our reach while deepening our impact. We envision a Bangladesh where no child goes to bed hungry, where every family has access to clean water and quality healthcare, and where education is a bridge to opportunity rather than a privilege.
But we cannot do this alone. Every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter is an integral part of this mission. Your trust and generosity enable us to continue this vital work and reach more communities in need.
I invite you to join us in this journey of transformation. Whether through financial support, volunteering your time, or simply spreading awareness of our work, you can be part of creating positive change in the lives of Bangladesh’s most vulnerable people.
Together, we can build a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive, where compassion guides our actions, and where the smiles of those we serve remind us why this work matters.
With gratitude and determination,
