  3. Message of Chairman

My utmost gratitude to the Almighty Allah (SWT) for his endless Mercy upon us who has allowed us to serve the helpless and needy people in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a country with millions of people and billions of possibilities. Like other countries in South Asia, this country is still struggling to achieve SDGs. We have started our journey with a mission to develop the communities and empower the disadvantaged people who are facing poverty, social injustice, violence, exploitation and other forms of suffering by broadly promoting education, poverty alleviation, health care, mutual understanding and collaboration, and skill development.
Since its establishment, the United Welfare Society is committed to achieving its goals. Our welfare and development programs covered more than a million beneficiaries till now.
In 2017, a vicious genocide by Myanmar’s army forced three out of every four Rohingya Muslims to flee their homes. Over a million of them -mostly women and children continue to live impoverished on a narrow strip of land in Bangladesh’s southern district of Cox’s Bazar. We are raising funds and supporting them from the beginning.
UWS is also playing its role as an implementing partner of many INGOs.
However, being the Chairman of the United Welfare Society, I strongly believe that local support and cooperation should be extended by the well-off members of society and social leaders to reduce illiteracy and poverty in society.
We are thankful to NGO Affairs Bureau, the Government of Bangladesh, and our development and funding partners for their continuous support. I also appreciate the hard work of our team, sponsors, volunteers and well-wishers who remain by UWS and help us make a difference.
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said He saw a person enjoying himself in Paradise because he removed a tree from a pathway due to the inconvenience it was causing. [Muslim].
Dear brothers and sisters, If removing a harmful object from a pathway is considered a means of forgiveness, then how must Islam rank the removal of harm, misery, hunger, and sorrow from mankind? We hope you will never stop supporting others. May Allah accept us all. Ameen.

Regards,

Abu Hanifa Noman
Chairman
